In celebration of the North East Ohio Regional Sewer Districts 50th Anniversary this decorative manhole cover was developed. Inspired by Japans decorative manhole cover program this project sought to achieve a similar goal as japans sewer project; inform the community of the value of the sewer and highlight their achievements in maintaining water quality. This design highlights the lake Erie walleye and native mussels, who’s presence reflect the improved water quality of the lake.
